My favourite “Disney Princess” movie is Alice in Wonderland because Alice wasn’t a princess at all. In fact, she was an adventurer turned businesswoman, and I’ve never related to a character more.

When I was 14 years old I had a life-transformative spinal surgery where my doctors told me I would never regain my movement or flexibility and for the rest of my life I would need to rest in a bed if I felt pain. That was impossible to hear as I was a dancer and refused to give up my love of dance due to a surgical set back.

So I returned to dance 6 weeks later and found yoga 4 years later.

Much to my doctors surprise and the “medical impossibility” of it all, I regained over 87% of my movement and flexibility back and when they asked me how this was possible, all I could think about was Alice because she sometimes believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.

Really it was yoga and my ambitious level of grit to make movement apart of my everyday life again. Shortly thereafter, I became a certified Yoga Teacher while working as a Sales Manager in New York City.

After a few years of teaching yoga and hitting monthly sales goals, I decided to turn it into a global business. So I travelled the world teaching yoga and business across 20 countries and 13 years later. . .
